Professional Certificate on Sustainable Water Management

The SDG Academy has announced their new professional certificate, “Sustainable Water Management,” that is now available. 

This course will focus on the key role water plays in the achievement of the SDGs, and particularly SDG6 about sustainable water and sanitation for all. Through the course a better understanding of how water influences lives and livelihoods will be offered.  The focal point will also be on how our own actions can contribute to a more water wise world. The course aims to build theoretical knowledge as well as provide exposure to concrete practices from around the world. 

Some of the main aspects of the programme are the scale, scope, and challenges in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on the environmental, economic and social dimensions of SDG 6 and the critical role of water governance, the fundamentals needed to achieve sustainable development and transboundary water cooperation while mitigating the effects of climate change on water systems and also understanding the governance, planning, diplomacy, and management of surface water and groundwater and the financing essential for progress. Moreover, the programme will concentrate on key approaches to negotiation and lessons from concrete practices and case studies from around the world.
