Creativity and Critical Thinking in Higher Education
As visualization of learning outcomes in higher education becomes a global challenge, growing interest emerged in how to foster creativity and critical thinking beyond knowledge and expertise limited to traditional disciplines. In this symposium, the role of competency-based education will be discussed as a cornerstone of transformative education in the OECD's discussions and the context of Japan, based on empirical research on environmental studies, service-learning, and Education for Sustainable Development conducted at Sophia University and the International Christian University.
Various professors, the Director of Council for Science, Technology and Innovation (Japan), and the Deputy Head of CERI-OECD will be present for the symposium.
Registration
The event will be held both in-person and online, but interpretation will only be available via Zoom. It will be held in-person at the Sophia University Yotsuya campus, in Building 2 Room 1701.
