Data for Peace Conference
15-17 June, Uppsala University will host the Data for Peace 2026 conference. The event convenes peacebuilders, policymakers, researchers, and technologists to address rising global risks and the underuse of data in early warning and action. Centered on the theme “Bridging Scientific Innovation with Policy and Practice,” the event emphasizes practical applications over theory.
Through live demonstrations, workshops, simulations, and open dialogue, participants will explore how data, forecasting tools, and digital innovations can better inform real-time decision-making in crisis settings. Key discussions focus on strengthening data infrastructure, improving uptake of evidence in policy, fostering local ownership and inclusion, and enhancing collaboration across sectors.
By highlighting both successes and gaps, the conference aims to build trust, usability, and coordination in the data-for-peace ecosystem, supporting more timely, effective, and scalable responses to violence prevention and global challenges.
