World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development 2026

Since being proclaimed by UNESCO in 2019, March 4th marks the World Engineering Day for Sustainable Development 2026.

This year, The World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) and Institution of Engineers Indonesia (PII), with support from UNESCO, co-organises a three-day event that brings together policymakers, engineers, academics, and industry leaders to discuss how digital innovation can promote sustainable development and accelerate the achievement of the SDGs. Under the umbrella of digitalization and digital innovation, the event will highlight and discuss global trends of Artificial Intelligence.  

The core objectives of the event include raising awareness of emergent technology to contribute to increased social and environmental sustainability, encourage diversity and inclusion in the engineering profession, and building capacity to counteract brain drain globally.
