2026 GEM Report launched

The 2026 edition of the Global Education Monitoring (GEM) Report, titled Access and Equity: Countdown to 2030, focuses on how countries are progressing toward more inclusive and equitable education systems. Launched on 25 March 2026, the report highlights that while access to education, particularly at the post-secondary level, has expanded, significant disparities remain based on socioeconomic background, gender, and geography. It emphasizes the importance of moving beyond enrolment to ensure meaningful participation and success, supported by strong data and targeted policies. By combining global analysis with country-level insights, this year’s report provides practical guidance to help governments close equity gaps and accelerate progress toward SDG 4.
