Presentation
The Centre for Research on Sustainable Development (CIEDES) is an interdisciplinary research center, founded in 1994 linked to the Vice Presidency of Research of the University of Costa Rica. Research on the stability of ecosystems and other processes of the biosphere, and the effects resulting from the interaction between human activities and the environment, from the perspective of an integral development of society.
Objectives
- Promote and implement research projects and interdisciplinary studies aimed at understanding and solving the problems resulting from the interaction of humans and the ecosphere
- Promote and participate in the education and training of scientists in predictive technologies, modeling and analysis in the environmental field
- Serve as facilitator instance, stimulating and liaison to strengthen academic activities of the University of Costa Rica in the field of sustainable development
- Promote partnerships with other higher education institutions, state and national and international organizations who work in the field of sustainable development
