Invitiation to apply: Become an IRDR International Centre of Excellence

The Integrated Research on Disaster Risk (IRDR), co-sponsored by the International Science Council (ISC) and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), invites qualified institutes across the globe to apply to become IRDR International Centres of Excellence (IRDR ICoEs).

As IRDR ICoEs, institutions contribute to the advancement of the IRDR mission to mobilise science for disaster risk reduction (DRR) by serving as regional centres for transdiciplinary research. Through local scientific contributions, ICoEs advance sustainable development, resilience, policy support, and capacity-building. Aside from supporting the IRDR, becoming an ICoE can strengthen institutional research leadership and expand international networks.

Deadline for applications is 17 April 2026.
