Launch of UNESCO Chair on Teacher Education for Sustainable Development at University of Ljubljana
The University of Ljubljana, through its Faculty of Education, has taken a major step towards advancing global sustainable education with the launch of the UNESCO Chair on Teacher Education for Sustainable Development.
The Chair will held by Gregor Torkay, professor of Biology Education at the University of Ljubljana. The UNESCO Chair will integrate research, teacher development and community engagement to create a holistic approach to teacher education. Through collaborating with UNESCO and the UNESCO Chair and UNITWIN Network, the Chair aims to serve as a model for other institutions to integrate sustainable development into teaching practices.
