SDG 4 Cluster Publication - Envisioning Leadership for Tomorrow’s Collective Well‐Being

This article addresses the roles formal and informal leaders can play in societies by moving away from unsustainable and toward sustainable futures. The article addresses changes in the concept of leadership and the potential of values-based leadership for sustainable futures, mentioning the complexities of identifying shared values in diverse cultures. More thought needs to be be given to the changes that may be required in addressing leadership and the characteristics of leaders, as well as how higher education can begin to prepare transformative future leaders who can influence societies on a broad scale to enhance the necessary transition.
