UFU updates waste management on all campuses

The garbage collection system on the campuses of the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) is being renewed in 2024, with new collectors and visual stickers. The process began at the Umuarama campus and will be done at all UFU campuses. 

The university has separate collectors for dry waste and wet waste, which have been replaced as the old ones were damaged. This is accompanied by identification stickers designed by an intern of the Sustainability Directorate. Another intern mapped the locations of the old trash cans using GIS software in order to facilitate decision-making on where the new trash cans should be installed for increased efficiency.
