Youth and strategies for resilience to violence and criminality in West Africa

The project aims to help to break the cycle of violence and youth crime by developing a better understanding of the contributing factors to violence and the resilience strategies of youth and their communities in West Africa, particularly in Burkina Faso and in Senegal.

The project aims to establish a better understanding of the factors that lead most young people to resist violence and crime in Burkina Faso and in Senegal. With a better understanding of resilience strategies against violence and crime, the project suggests recommendations and practical solutions to better prevent violence and crime among young people in these countries that could be used to inform public policy and security and pacification programs in Burkina Faso and Senegal.

Finally, the project contributes towards strengthening research and production of knowledge capacities for better policy formulation and violence prevention programs to address youth crime.
