About
Graz University of Technology (TU Graz) is a public research university located in the centre of Graz, the second largest city in Austria. It was founded in 1811 by Archduke John of Austria and is the oldest science and technology research and educational institute in Austria. Ranked among the world’s top 200 universities for mechanical engineering in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017, TU Graz has over 13,000 students and is comprised of seven faculties. Notable alumni include the famous physicist Nikola Tesla. TU Graz, the University of Leoben and TU Wien form the network Austrian Universities of Technology (TU Austria) with more than 43,000 students and 10,000 staff. Currently, 19 bachelor's and 35 master's study programmes (of which 19 are in English) are offered across all technology and natural sciences disciplines.
