Sustainability at University of Twente
The University of Twente combines technical innovation and social research in order to offer solutions to the challenges faced by society. For example, sustainability. We take our social responsibility very seriously not only in our research and education, but also in our own business operations. In this context our green campus acts as a living lab where as many findings as possible from our own research are applied in practice.
The University of Twente is an entrepreneurial university that, through innovative solutions, contributes to social issues in the area of sustainability. The combination of technology and social sciences makes for a unique approach. We develop and apply sustainable innovations in close cooperation with our environment and climate. Students and staff play an active role in achieving our sustainability goals through both education and research.
The University of Twente’s main focuses are research, education and valorisation. Sustainability is an important theme throughout UT’s curriculum and particularly in their research. This commitment to research is clearly shown in the cooperation with Kennispark Twente, where business and science blend together to strive towards sustainable development. They are also committed to using the findings of their research to conduct their own operations in as sustainable a way as possible in order to be in tune with their social responsibility.
