The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) also known as the Global Goals were adopted in the year 2015 by the United Nations as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the people and make sure all the people enjoy peace and prosperity by the end of 2030.

SDGs are total of 17 goals along with 169 targets that the UN is committed to work towards prosperity through the year 2030. The work is done with the hope to create a lasting positive change and freedom as well in different affected areas. With these goals, UN has a clear picture to create a framework for development programs focusing on removing poverty, hunger, violence, and fear and disease etc. which in the end would lead to promoting literacy, equality, sanitation, hygiene, education, and what not. Note that these goals will be focusing on three key areas which the UN has identified for sustainability. These key areas are economic, social, and environmental development.
