About
For more than 60 years, the educational action of the Universidad del Salvador (USAL) has been guided by a humanistic and Christian conception that favors the formation of people who are supportive and open to the dialogue between science and faith. Today, about 30,000 students are studying at the USAL in undergraduate and postgraduate courses, of which approximately 2,400 students from different countries. Its faculty consists of more than 2,700 professors and researchers.
Sustainability at University of Salvador
USAL has hosted two major event on Higher Education and Sustainable Development. Conference on Humanism and the Environment, Reflections on H.H. Francis’ Laudato si' Encyclical” held on the 8th and 9th September 2015, and Conference on Humanism and the Environment, Reflections on H.H. Francis’ Laudato si' Encyclical” held on 10th and 11th October 2017.
USAL has also pioneered in DRR Management, Climate Change courses since 2005 and through its Environment and Ecology Institute (IMAE) has, for the past 25 years, carried out a large number of SD Research Projects.
