EAUC launches Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan Guide and Template
In response to the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021–2030), EAUC Scotland has launched a new Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan Guide and Template, designed to support post-16 education institutions in protecting and restoring biodiversity.
This resource package helps institutions to:
- Understand what biodiversity is and why it is important
- Recognise the scale of biodiversity loss to date at a global and national level
- Explore the drivers for biodiversity loss and how these can relate to educational settings
- Identify the co-benefits that can be achieved by taking institutional biodiversity action
- Provide a template and inspiration for creating or updating institutional biodiversity strategies and action plans
- Access a range of additional resources, including sector case studies.
The guide highlights the importance of a whole-institution approach—empowering staff across all roles to contribute to nature restoration efforts.
This resource was developed as part of EAUC Scotland’s Step-Change for Sustainability programme (Year 2), funded by the Scottish Funding Council.
