Environmental Management Unit of the University of Costa Rica
The Environmental Management Unit is a unit of the University of Costa Rica, ruled by the Vice Rector's Office for Administration who's responsible for coordinating internal environmental efforts and designing mechanisms to integrate them into administrative management. The Environmental Management Unit participates in environmental conservation efforts and is a major pillar in the fight against global warming in Costa Rica.
In 2023, the Environmental Management Unit received in for the second year in a row, the Environmental Excellence Award, which is awarded by the Ministry of Environment and Energy (MINAE), to public institutions that stood out for their performance in the Institutional Environmental Management Program (PGAI).
