Sophia University Launch of UNESCO Chair on Education for Human Dignity, Peace and Sustainability

Sophia University, Japan, was appointed UNESCO Chair with the support of the following partner institutions: Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF), Asia Pacific Center of Education for International Understanding (APCEIU), Center for International Higher Education, Boston College, Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, Gokongwei Brothers School of Education and Learning Design of Ateneo de Manila University, International Islamic University Malaysia, Pontificia Universidad Javeriana Bogota, United Nations University Institute for the Advanced Studies for Sustainability (UNU-IAS). The holder of the UNESCO Chair on Education for Human Dignity, Peace and Sustainability Prof. Miki Sugimura.

On Wednesday, 28th February 2024, 17:00-19:00 JST, a commemorative launch symposium on the UNESCO chair will be held at Sophia University and online. Several speakers will contribute to the launch event, including partner representatives, the UNESCO Regional Office Bangkok, and York University.
