UN Global Online Consultation - Inputs to Ocean Action Panel's Concept Papers

Between 26 July and 30 August 2024, stakeholders were invited to provide inputs to the concept papers for the Ocean Action Panels of the  UN 2025 Ocean Conference (Nice, France).

A total of 420 stakeholders based in 90 countries were received. Of this figure, 61.2% of submissions came from non-profit organisations; 7.4% came from education & academic entities; and 6% from other stakeholders active in areas related to sustainable development. 

The IAU had also submitted input, highlighting the work of the HESD SDG14 Cluster. Ultimately, the IAU was selected for a partnership spotlight in this document, available below.

The International Association of Universities plays a key role in fostering partnerships for ocean conservation through educational and research initiatives. The IAU promotes collaboration among universities and research institutions worldwide to enhance knowledge sharing and capacity building for sustainable ocean management.
