UFU Conference on Distributed Energy Resources
Between 2 and 4 December 2024, the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) hosted the 1st Bralizian Conference on Distributed Energy Resources (CBRED). Many energy distributor companies were present, as well as students, professors, and people of the community.
Distributed energy resources (DERs) are technologies for generating and storing electricity and decentralize and facilitate consumption management. DERs are located in consumer units, like homes and structures that use solar energy, batteries, smart grids, and more.
The conference covered the need to embrace DERs in the Brazilian context and the various barriers to achieving a sustainable future with them, including timeline, regulation, regional contexts, tariffs, and more.
