Sustainability
Since publishing their first Sustainability Policy in 2016, Concordia University has expanded their strategy, actions, and reach in achieving sustainability both on campus and in the wider community of Montreal. Concordia University has five stream plans for 2020-2025 that reflects their multifacted vision for achieving sustainability. The University has also launched a Voluntary University Review (VUR) in 2021, modeled after countries and cities who self-assess their progress towards achieving the SDGs and following trailblazer universities who started VURs. Concordia also partakes in a wide variety of sustainability assessments.
The University uses a diverse range of strategies to ensure the success of sustainability initiatives undertaken by its community. These initiatives involve the university community on various topics such as waste, food, energy, transportation, buildings... Sustainability at Concordia has also long been driven by a diversity of student projects, initiatives and passions. Find out more about these projects.
