Join us at Arctic Congress Bodø 2024 for a unique event that combines the International Congress of Arctic Social Sciences (ICASS) XI, UArctic Congress 2024, and High North Dialogue 2024.

The congress takes place from 29 May to 3 June 2024 in Bodø, Norway, hosted by Nordland Research Institute and Nord University. Bringing three conferences together in Bodø – one of the 2024 European Cultural Capitals - will be an extraordinary showcase of Arctic cooperation.

The congress includes high-level plenary sessions, several parallel sessions, network activities, and social and cultural events. It is an excellent opportunity for researchers, policymakers, businesses, and students to exchange knowledge and meet and connect across the Arctic.

The call for session proposals is now open until 15 June 2023.

For sustainable northern futures

The Arctic Congress Bodø 2024 will focus on key themes related to Norway's Arctic Council chairship priorities, including the impacts of climate change, sustainable development, and efforts to enhance the well-being of people living in the region. The themes will also cover Arctic youth and Indigenous peoples as overarching priorities.

The conference will feature four main themes, including oceans, climate and environment, sustainable economic developments, and people of the North. The sessions will cover ocean health and productivity, reducing marine litter and plastic pollution, climate change impacts on Arctic environments and biodiversity, sustainable economic development, and public health. The conference promises to be a significant highlight of the Arctic calendar and an essential step towards a sustainable and prosperous future for the region.
