Sustainability at Laval University
ULaval has a deep-seated culture of sustainable development, and sustainability is integrated in curricula, teaching, and research. The university offers sustainable development-related graduate programs and integrates sustainable practices in more than 1000 of their courses. To foster sustainable efforts on its campus, Laval University invites students to add an interdisciplinary sustainable development profile to their graduate program. Its campus culture emphasizes renewable energy and sustainability innovation.
In 2015, ULaval became the first self-initiated carbon neutral university in Canada and Québec. Through strategic use of the Montmorency Forest, the university contributes to research and education on carbon reduction.
