From October 1, 2021, an Arctic Graduate School with a focus on Sustainable Development took place at Umeå University . The graduate school is located within the umbrella of Arcum and has sustainable development in addition to the Arctic focus. This graduate school is a faculty-wide research school that aims to contribute to the development and coordination of Arctic research, multidisciplinary Arctic research with a social responsibility and also inspire interdisciplinary initiatives. In line with the University's vision, the graduate school will contribute to the Sustainable Development Goals and provide knowledge into the ongoing transitions in northern Sweden, such as the green industrial transition to sustainable production, the effects of climate change, or new approaches on security and safety issues in the society.
