Pontifical Catholic University of Peru

Mission

The Pontifical Catholic University of Peru is a plural academic community, inspired by ethical, democratic and catholic principles. It contributes to broadening knowledge through research and innovation at an international level. It accepts its commitment to human development and is effectively and permanently linked to its environment.

Vision

The University aims at:

  • being a national and regional academic reference in integral, multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary training
  • having the required conditions to be a research university
  • being involved in the discussion and formulation of solutions to national problems on education, social development and sustainability

Sustainability

University Social Responsibility (RSU) expresses the committed response of the university to the challenges of Sustainable Human Development (SHD) in the country. This commitment is transversal to the four strategic axes of the university: training, research and relationship with the environment, as well as institutional management.

The Academic Department of Social Responsibility (DARS) is the PUCP unit in charge of designing, promoting and carrying out University Social Responsibility (RSU) initiatives. Its main objective is to identify and generate the conditions so that students, teachers and administrative staff have the necessary support to integrate training, research and action in the design and execution of socially relevant initiatives and projects.

To carry out this work, DARS has four main areas:

  • Training
  • Investigation
  • Link with the Territorial Environment
  • Linkage with the PUCP Environment

In addition, the Institute of Nature, Earth and Energy (INTE-PUCP), created on March 7, 2011, is attached to the Office of the Vice President for Research of the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP). It is a transdisciplinary academic platform that seeks to strengthen and promote research, technological and institutional development, and innovation in environmental matters, through capacity building, knowledge dissemination, and interaction promotion between sectors that generate knowledge, take decisions decisions and civil society.
